LYB friendly classes are existing classes offered at Jamie Surya Yoga Studio that have been identified as accessible for the TBI community and are taught by teachers who have completed the LoveYourBrain training.

These public classes are made accessible to the TBI community at a discounted rate. To be eligible for this rate, we require students to first attend and complete a free LoveYourBrain 6-week FUNdamentals series, open to individuals impacted by TBI as well as their caregivers. Gentle/Beginner Yoga

Beginners and New Students - Gentle/Beginner Yoga is a soft approach to the physical practice of Yoga. With a focus on the philosophy of the practice, you will use your body to help heal the deeper layers of yourself. Always a unique class, Jamie shows her creativity through movement with attention to the flow of class, pairing of music, and knowledge of safe and logical movement. This class is perfect for those just starting their practice, learning the basic movements of yoga and beginner pranayama. 

Center & Length

All Levels of Practitioners - Center & Length is a low- impact, graceful, floor experience in strengthening core muscles while creating length through entire body.  Gentle, effective core exercises and micro movements are layered throughout, with deep, long held stretches and detailed instruction.  This class is suitable for all levels and is perfect for anyone looking to connect to their center, improve back pain, balance and become more flexible- in a relaxing atmosphere where personal style is honored.  

Wind Down

All Levels of Practitioners - This one hour class is focused on allowing you to rest and heal. With a class on Monday and Friday, its the perfect way to set a positive tone for your week or wind down before the weekend. Incorporating bolsters, meditation, pranayama and easeful yet deep movement, this class allows you to soften tension and stress - inside and out! Perfect for beginners or intermediate and advanced practitioners that need time to restore. 

Level I/II

Intermediate Practitioners - Level I/II Yoga is where deepening your physical practice, and union with body and breath at a faster pace begins. In this class, the body is deeply warmed up, prepared specifically for the vinyasa flows and goal pose of class. Every movement from start to finish has a purpose, and that purpose always reflects back on the deeper aspects of Yoga. Prepare for a full package class: Inspiration for the inner body & movement for the physical body. Leave feeling empowered, strong and whole.

Flow is a 60 minute class filled with the flows you're familiar with from Yoga for All and Level I/II but at a slightly faster pace and with variations to go deeper into poses. This class is open to those who are comfortable in Yoga for All and Level I/II.

Yoga For All 

All Levels of Practitioners - Yoga For All is a class that is suitable for everyone to come and explore. Your teacher will always offer modifications for those who want to stay at a more beginner level, and variations for those who want to challenge themselves a bit more. You may find a mix of vinyasa and restorative, end up in an inversion or in meditation. Always fueled by something deeper, your teacher will leave you feeling accomplished, inspired and anticipating what next week will bring!

Gentle/Restorative Fusion

Beginners, New Students, All Levels of Practitioners - A 60 minute class that is half restorative yoga, half gentle flow. This blend of stillness and movement will help get you grounded and focused then moving open and freely. Using bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps you will feel supported, comfortable and free.
